This site was envisioned as a place to celebrate the outstanding contributions of LGBTQ+ individuals in the world of coding and technology, and to provide a platform for sharing news, resources, and stories about the people who make it all possible. Queer coders have been here from the start, and continue to make invaluable contributions. I hope this site can help to raise awareness of their work and inspire the next generation to start coding!
This project started at the Software Sustainability Institute’s Collaborations Workshop 2026, where I had the opportunity to pitch the idea for the hack day. The response was overwhelmingly positive, winning first prize from the ideas generation session, and I was thrilled to see so many people excited about the project.
